Aurea Mater is a project in which Nadia Cascini focuses her practice on the figure as an essential presence. These are not portraits, but emergences, faces that take form through layering, tension, and reduction. The painted surface becomes the space where the image is built and transformed, while the presence of gold introduces a suspended dimension, removing the figure from time and narrative. Each work stands as an autonomous presence, balanced between strength and stillness. In this series, identity is not defined, but suggested, left open to the gaze of the viewer.
